Symposium Bridge connects Google Chrome to the Symposium desktop application so authorized AI agents can work with tabs in the browser profile where the extension is installed. With Symposium Bridge, an authorized agent can: • List open tabs and windows • Read visible page content • Identify interactive page elements • Navigate pages and open or close tabs • Click buttons and links • Type into forms • Capture screenshots • Wait for page content to appear • Handle supported browser dialogs • Perform several browser actions in one request The extension is designed for people who want an AI agent to work inside their existing Chrome sessions instead of launching a separate browser. This means the agent can use websites where the user is already signed in, subject to Chrome restrictions and the permissions granted by the user. Symposium Bridge requires the Symposium desktop application. The extension connects to the companion service running locally on the same computer. It does not operate as a standalone extension. Access is protected by credentials created by the desktop application. The computer owner controls when remote access is available and can issue, restrict, and revoke access keys. Access can be limited to selected Chrome profiles. Symposium Bridge requests broad browser permissions because browser control is its single purpose. These permissions allow it to discover tabs, inspect webpage content, inject approved interaction functions, and use Chrome debugging capabilities for trusted input and screenshots.
