Overview

First-person sword fencing: steer the blade with your mouse, lunge, parry and riposte. Beat 15 opponents or win the tournament.

Sword: Fencing is a first-person fencing game. You never turn your head: your mouse is your blade, and every touch is won with timing, distance and nerve. HOW IT PLAYS - Move the mouse to steer the blade, one to one. - Hold left click to extend your arm; let go to bring it back. - Push the mouse forward and scroll up to lunge. - Flick the mouse at an incoming blade to parry, then hit back with a riposte. - Circle the mouse and attack to disengage around the opponent's blade. - W and S step forward and back. Steps are short and quick, like the real thing. START WITH THE LESSON A cartoon coach, Pip, teaches you in nine short steps and checks every move you make before moving on. CAMPAIGN Fifteen named opponents from beginner to world champion, each from a different country with a style of their own: aggressive, defensive, tricky or a counter-attacker. Beat one to unlock the next, and earn up to three stars on every stage. TOURNAMENT A sixteen-fencer knockout bracket: round of 16, quarter-final, semi-final and final. Your bouts are fenced for real; the rest of the draw is decided around you. SMART OPPONENTS They keep moving, press you when you stand still, attack your forward steps, beat an arm held out too long, feint, and learn from what works during the bout. REPLAY EVERY TOUCH After each bout the camera lifts into a third-person replay you can orbit, scrub and slow down. Click the toolbar icon to open the game in its own tab. Your mouse is captured while you fence; press Esc to pause.
