Swatcat
Overview
A cute cat that keeps your social media time in check: it nudges, then swats, then blocks until tomorrow.
Meet Swatcat: a small, cute cat that lives on your web pages and helps you spend less time on social media. HOW IT WORKS • Pick your cat from six coats and give it a name. • Set one daily limit for the sites that eat your time. A list of popular social media sites is ready to go, and you can add or remove any site. • The timer only runs while one of those sites is open in the tab you're looking at. Everything else is free time. • Before you open one, the cat asks if you still want to go in. Five seconds to think is often enough. • As your time runs low, the cat gets more insistent: it stares, lies across the page, then bats at the top of the screen. At the limit it swats, the tab closes, and the site stays blocked until tomorrow. KIND, NOT CRUEL • It waits while you're typing. • A one-minute warning, and the minutes left on the toolbar icon near the end. • Once a day you can ask for five more minutes. • Choose the days and hours it keeps time. Outside them, it naps. GOOD DAYS ARE REWARDED Stay under half your limit and your cat is extra happy the next day, with little hearts and a purr when you pet it. Build a streak of good days and see your week at a glance in the popup. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Free, with no ads and no account. Nothing leaves your device: no network requests, no analytics, and no record of the pages you visit.
