Overview

Drag a link to open it in a new tab.

Drag any link on a page and drop it anywhere — it opens in a new tab, placed right after the tab you dragged from. In the background by default, so your reading is never interrupted. WHAT IT DOES • Drag a link → opens in a new tab • Drag an image that is wrapped in a link → opens the link • Drag a bare image → opens the image itself, same as the right-click menu • Drag a URL in from another window or application → opens it too Background by default. Switch to foreground in the options page if you would rather jump straight to what you opened. WHY IT EXISTS The extension this replaces stopped working reliably under Manifest V3: the same drag would sometimes open a tab and sometimes do nothing, and you had to try two or three times. The cause is that Chrome recycles a service worker after about 30 seconds of idle time, taking any state stored in it along. SuperDragger keeps no state in its service worker at all. Every drag carries its own context, so the outcome does not depend on whether Chrome happens to have kept the worker alive. That failure mode is not made less likely here — it is structurally absent. DESIGNED TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY • Dragging a link to the bookmarks bar, the tab strip or another application still works exactly as before • Dropping a link into a text field or an editor pastes the URL, as it always did • Dragging files into a page is left entirely to the browser • A drag shorter than 8 pixels is treated as a misclick; drag back to where you started to cancel PRIVACY No data collection of any kind. No network requests. No analytics. The only thing stored is your two settings — open mode and interface language — kept in Chrome's own synced storage. The extension does not request the "tabs" permission, so it cannot read the addresses or titles of your tabs. LANGUAGES English and Simplified Chinese, following your browser's language automatically. You can also pin the options page to one language regardless of the browser setting. KNOWN LIMITS • Extensions cannot run on chrome:// pages, the Web Store, the new tab page or the PDF viewer — this applies to every extension, not just this one • On sites that handle drops themselves (Notion, kanban boards), this extension takes the drop first; there is no per-site exclusion list yet • Links inside a closed shadow root cannot be reached
