Thanks Webber, I appreciate the review and feedback! I've considered Simple Tab Sorter "feature complete" for quite some time and have no intention of releasing future updates aside from bug fixes that may be required as a result of future chrome browser/API changes. That has happened twice so far, first when Chrome added "Tab Groups" and most-recently when Google forced the migration from the v2 Chrome extension manifest to v3. As for Super Tab Sorter, so far, I've added optional tab deduplication during sorting and I've modified the "Sort By URL" behavior to sort by domain and sub-sort by host name. The latter change leverages a 3rd party library that went against my minimalist approach to Simple Tab Sorter, which ultimately motivated me to create a separate extension for all future development.

Compared to [simple tab sorter], this new one is still simple but wonderful ! Sorting by root domain is a wise choice. 🤓 A hotkey will be a great improvement.

Did the job and respected tab groupings (in Edge).

Due to the severe accusations of another review, I have taken the time to skim over the source code inside the GitHub repository linked in the extension overview, and did not find any concerning code as of commit c3d6fb4. Certainly nothing that would even suggest data transmission/theft. The permissions for this extension as defined in the manifest seem benign and minimalist. Presuming that the files in the repository match what was uploaded to the webstore (because I am not THAT paranoid ye... Show more

Thanks Jonas, I appreciate the review and feedback! In the initial release, Super Tab Sorter added deduping and sorting by subdomains (which added the PSL dependency). The goal of Simple Tab Sorter was to remain simple and lightweight, and the submitted enhancement requests were crossing what I'd consider that line, hence the release of a separate extension... I had intended on implementing additional enhancement requests but no longer consider that a good use of my time given this extension's current rating, resulting from this extension's initial hit reviews (the 1st review was a 1 star review by an angry Simple Tab Sorter reviewer that's not displayed, so I can't respond, but counts against the rating). People are likely to skip products with low ratings, without digging into the reasons why, so this extension may never get the attention it deserves. Side note, I have no intention of adding updates to Simple Tab Sorter (aside from removing "custom sort", which some people find confusing) unless Google forces my hand by changing their manifest/API again - Super Tab Sorter is the only extension I had planned additional development for after migrating to manifest v3 and adding proper tab group support. With that said, I'll review the enhancement list if this extension gains enough traction and positive reviews to boost its rating reasonably close to Simple Tab Sorter's.

steals you web history

This is a very serious, and completely false, accusation - it's just plain ignorant. You clearly didn't read, or understand, the notes about the "Read your browsing history" permission warnings on the Chrome Web Store extension Overview page. If you did, you have a flawed understanding of the the definition of stealing and/or "web history"... In order to "steal your web history", an extension must do 2 things: 1. Access your web history 2. *Transmit* your history to someone/some service that could use it for some unethical purpose As stated on the Chrome Web Store Overview page, an extension needs to request the "history" permission in the manifest.json file - the user must grant the requested permission before it can call chrome.history.search() or chrome.history.getVisits(). Super Tab Sorter and Simple Tab Sorter do none of this, therefore, they have NOTHING to steal. If you consider currently open tab titles and URLs to be "history", then how do you expect them to "sort" your tabs? *IF* I were to add a highly requested feature that requires access to your web history, in order to "steal" it, I would need to transmit and store that history somewhere in order to have access to it. The complete source code for both extensions is available in the Github repos listed in the first screenshot of their respective extension pages - anyone with a technical background could easily verify whether that was the case, so why would I risk ruining my reputation? If you've read this far, and still believe this extension "steals your web history", I'd encourage you to explain HOW it does so. Stating "steals your web history", by itself, when the extension overview already addresses this concern is lazy and unhelpful - it comes across as defamation. I've addressed Chrome's misleading messaging (the permissions dialog is different in other browsers) in the Overview page and made the complete source publicly available, so the burden of proof is on you to back your unsubstantiated claim. You're more than welcome to report this extension if you still believe it "steals your web history". Google has removed other extensions (e.g., The Great Suspender) for this reason, and that's a good thing, but Google will likely respond with something along the lines of "this extension is safe" in fewer words than my response.

Not sure what the one start review is about. Maybe it isn't a 5, but it is far closer to that than 1. It is my main tab sort extension on chromium-based browsers at the moment. I felt like I should rectify the overall rating.
