Overview

Dim any web page like virtual sunglasses — classic dimmer plus a Smart mode that darkens only the bright parts.

------------------------------------------------------------ DETAILED DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------ Sunshades dims web pages like a pair of virtual sunglasses — perfect for late-night browsing, bright white sites, and blinding outdoor livestreams. TWO WAYS TO DIM • Classic — an even dimmer over the whole page, like tinted glass. • Smart — dims by TRUE brightness: only the parts of the page brighter than your Threshold get darkened. Dark videos, dark themes and deep colours stay completely untouched. - Threshold picks WHICH parts get dimmed. - Strength picks HOW DARK they get — up to near-black. A white article with a dark video in it? The page dims, the video keeps its full contrast. PER-TAB BY DESIGN Every tab keeps its own on/off, mode and level — a dark indoor stream in one tab, a blinding outdoor stream in another, each with its own shade. Settings survive reloads and reset when the tab closes. WHOLE-BROWSER CONTROLS • Master switch — pause/resume every shade at once (each tab remembers its own level). • All tabs at once — push a Classic or Smart shade to every open tab in one drag. Also works over fullscreen video. No data collected, nothing leaves your browser — the only permission is local storage for your settings. ------------------------------------------------------------------ WHAT'S NEW IN 1.6: Smart mode: dims only the parts of the page brighter than your chosen threshold (true perceived brightness — dark videos and deep colours untouched), with independent Threshold and Strength sliders, per tab or across all tabs at once. Note* Due to technical limitations on how the smart filter is able to actively process the brightness, it introduces a minimum level of blur in the image so if you prize definition above all in the page you are watching (ie. movies, video, etc) your best bet is to use the classic filter to a minimum (ie. 14% strength) on those and leaving the smart filter for pages where definition doesn't matter such as browsing or reading pages where you also usually also get those bright white pages.
