Sumi translates manga, manhwa, manhua, and webtoon images in place on the page you are reading. Open the Sumi popup on any page with comic images, choose your target language, and translate the visible manga images or select one image manually. Sumi detects speech bubbles, captions, signs, and sound effects, then writes the translated text back into the artwork so you can keep reading in the same tab. Free to start, no account required - Click the Sumi icon on a page with manga, manhwa, manhua, or webtoon images. - Translate up to three visible images at a time, or pick a single image on the page. - Choose from 24 target languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, Indonesian, Malay, Filipino, Thai, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. - Signed-out users can use the server-managed free preview/quota. Auto-translate the sites you choose - Turn auto-translate On for a site from the popup. - Sumi asks for Chrome's optional all-sites access because Chrome requires that permission for visible-tab capture. - Sumi stores only the hosts you enable and acts only on those enabled sites. - Manage, pause, or remove enabled sites from the Options page. Optional Sumi account - Sign in from the popup with your mangasumi.com account, or create one for free. - New accounts start with 30 free pages, and the popup shows your credit balance. - Use account credits for translations, with higher limits than the signed-out preview. - When you run low, Get more credits opens your account/credits page on mangasumi.com. There are no payments inside the extension. Privacy basics - Sumi translates only the images you request from the popup, the on-image control, or auto-translate on sites you enabled. - Selected image crops are sent to Sumi's translation API solely to return translation regions for that request. - When signed in, Sumi fetches only your account email and credit balance to show account status and apply credits. - Target language, the sound-effects/captions toggle, dismissed hints, enabled auto-translate hosts, per-tab page IDs, and a short-lived translation-result cache are stored in Chrome storage. - Sumi does not collect browsing history, full page text, location, passwords, or payment details, and it does not bypass paywalls.
