SubtitleX
Overview
Load local subtitle files and display them over online videos.
SubtitleX automatically synchronizes local subtitle files with same-language dialogue while you watch online videos. Load an SRT or VTT file, select the spoken language, and start Auto Sync. SubtitleX listens to a 15-second dialogue sample through Chrome Speech Recognition, finds matching subtitle text, and adjusts the subtitle timing. Key features: • Automatically synchronize same-language subtitles with spoken dialogue • Import local SRT and VTT subtitle files • Display subtitles over compatible HTML5 videos • Fine-tune subtitle timing manually in 0.5-second steps • Select Japanese subtitle words to view English meanings and readings • Process subtitle files and dictionary lookups locally For better synchronization, use Auto Sync during a dialogue-heavy scene with audible volume. If it cannot find a reliable match, try another scene or repeat the process. Auto Sync requires the film’s spoken language and subtitle language to be the same. It uses Chrome Speech Recognition and may require microphone permission. Compatibility may vary between websites. Some protected streaming players, embedded videos, or unusual video implementations may not be supported.
