SubtitleMate for YouTube is a lightweight, privacy-first companion for YouTube. Open any video and it works in two steps: 1. Playback speed first — your preferred rate is applied immediately, whether or not the video has captions. 2. Captions second — if caption tracks exist, they are turned on in your chosen mode: • Translate — auto-translates into your target language (15 languages supported). • English (auto-generated) — selects YouTube's built-in English auto-transcription track. Videos with no caption tracks are skipped: SubtitleMate keeps the speed you set and stops trying. Set once, works on every video.
