Subtitle Overlay
Overview
Show .ass, .srt and .smi subtitles over any web video. v1.2.2 · Made by dhsdb010
Watch any web video with your own subtitle file. Subtitle Overlay puts subtitles from a file on your computer at the bottom center of the video you're watching, just like built-in subtitles, and keeps them in sync with playback. Pause, seek or change speed and the subtitles follow. FEATURES • Load .ass / .ssa, .srt and .smi (SAMI) files, by clicking Upload or dragging the file onto the popup • Korean files in EUC-KR / CP949 and UTF-16 open correctly; multi-language .smi files pick the Korean track automatically • Subtitle size from 50% to 200% • Timing fix: shift subtitles earlier or later by 0.1 s or 1 s • Text color presets plus a built-in color picker with an eyedropper • Outline thickness and color, background box, font and bold • Drag the subtitles anywhere on the video, even in fullscreen; the position is remembered • Sign / top-of-screen text from .ass files is shown at the top • One switch to turn subtitles on or off KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS (on the video page) • Alt/Option + [ or ]: subtitles 0.1 s earlier / later (add Shift for 1 s) • Alt/Option + \: hide / show subtitles PRIVACY Your subtitle file is read on your computer and stored only in your browser's extension storage. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is tracked, and the extension makes no network requests.
