Subtara

Overview
Read and translate YouTube subtitles in a resizable panel that follows the video.
Read YouTube subtitles at your own pace with Subtara. Subtara brings available subtitles and translations into a resizable reading panel, helping you follow lectures, tutorials, and conversations while watching. • Follow the current passage as the video plays. • Scroll back to read earlier passages without being automatically pulled away. • View the original text alongside translations. • Click a passage to select it, or double-click to jump to that moment. • Resize or collapse the panel to fit your viewing setup. • Use fullscreen with the video and subtitle panel side by side, keeping the picture unobstructed. • Choose your translation language and quickly return to recently used languages. Getting started Open a regular YouTube video page with available captions, choose a translation language, and follow the subtitles in the Subtara panel. Some language pairs may require Chrome to download a local translation model. Availability Subtara currently supports regular YouTube video pages. YouTube Shorts, embedded players, and other websites are not supported. It works with available captions and does not transcribe audio. Translation availability depends on the video's captions and your browser's supported language models.
