Overview

Finds forgotten subscriptions in Gmail receipts. Every feature is free. Nothing leaves your device.

[Overview] SubSweep is a Chrome extension that finds forgotten recurring charges in your Gmail receipts and helps you keep track of them. See upcoming payments on a calendar and in charts, and get a reminder before each charge. Every feature is free. The content of your email is never sent off your device. [Find subscriptions in your email] Register buttons in your Gmail search results Open Gmail, click the extension icon and press "Scan this Gmail tab". The extension searches for receipt-like emails and adds a "Register" button to each result. - The button opens a confirmation form with the service name, amount, currency, billing cycle and date already filled in - Nothing is saved until you check the details and press "Save". It never registers anything on its own - Anything it cannot read, and services it does not find, can be added with "Add manually" - For emails that list several subscriptions in one message (such as Apple or Google Play), you enter the service name yourself Automatic scan (optional) When you turn it on in Settings, the extension checks Gmail in the background every week or every month and looks for new subscription candidates. Candidates are listed for you to review before anything is registered. - A Gmail tab opens briefly in the background while it runs - Chrome asks for permission to access Gmail when you turn it on [Keep track] Subscriptions See all your subscriptions in one list, ordered by next charge date. Yearly total, monthly equivalent and the number of entries are shown too. - Billing cycle: monthly, yearly, every N months or every N days - Add a start date, a note and a free-trial end date - Price increases and decreases are detected and shown - "Try cancelling" shows how much you would save in a year - A link to the cancellation page is provided (for registered services only) Upcoming payments (calendar and charts) - Calendar: shows payments by day, compares the month with the same month last year, and shows how much is paid and how much remains. You can add payments to Google Calendar or export an .ics file - Charts: shows this year and last year side by side, month by month. Upcoming charges are striped, and a table view is available - Past amounts are estimated from the start date and billing cycle, and are marked "Estimated" on screen Monthly budget Set an upper limit for one month and see how much is left, or how much you are over, for each month. USD subscriptions in yen USD subscriptions are converted to yen for totals. You can enter the exchange rate yourself. If you turn on automatic updates (optional), the USD to JPY rate is fetched once a day from a public service (api.frankfurter.dev). CSV export and import Export your entries as a CSV file for backup or to move to another device. An exported file can be imported as is. Display color and language Choose an accent color from six (it also applies to the Register buttons in Gmail). Japanese and English are supported. Light and dark follow your system setting. [Reminders] Get a Chrome notification before each charge. - Turn off "Send notifications" to stop all notifications and the number on the toolbar icon - Choose the days (30, 14, 7, 3 or 1 day before, or on the day) and the time - Register a free-trial end date for a subscription to be reminded before it ends - Get a notification when payments are expected to exceed your budget (this month and next, once per month) - Weekly summary: on the day you choose, get one notification covering the charges in the next 7 days - The toolbar icon shows the number of charges you have not seen yet - Send a test notification from Settings to check that it works [Who it is for] People who may be paying for subscriptions they no longer use People who want to know how much is charged every month People who have been charged after forgetting to end a free trial People who do not want to miss the renewal date of a yearly plan People who want to review their fixed monthly costs [How to use] Register from Gmail 1. [Permissions] - activeTab, scripting: used to show the Register buttons in the Gmail tab you have open, when you click the extension icon - storage: used to save your entries and settings in your browser - alarms, notifications: used to show reminders at the day and time you choose - (Optional) mail.google.com: Chrome asks for permission only when you turn on automatic scan - (Optional) api.frankfurter.dev: Chrome asks for permission only when you turn on automatic exchange-rate updates [Privacy] - The content of your email is never sent off your device. Only your entries, such as service name, amount and date, are saved. - Your entries and settings are saved only in your browser. There is no developer server. - Only when you turn on automatic exchange-rate updates, the extension sends a request for a currency pair to api.frankfurter.dev. None of your entries or email data is sent. If you do not turn it on, this connection is never made. - The support link (Buy Me a Coffee) in Settings and at the bottom of the popup opens an external site only when you click it. - "Delete all data" in Settings removes all entries and detection history from this device. [Notes] This extension adds features to the Gmail screen. Because it works from the structure of the page, it may stop working correctly if Gmail changes its screen. If that happens, you can still register subscriptions with "Add manually". Please report problems using the link in Settings. The email search is based on the sender addresses of known services. Not every service will be found. Please add the ones that are not found by hand. Amounts and dates read from an email may differ from the real ones, depending on how the email is written. Please check the details in the form before you save. Amounts converted at an exchange rate are reference values. Real charges will differ. Past payment amounts are estimates based on the start date and billing cycle. They may differ from what was actually charged. "Delete all data" cannot be undone. To keep this extension free and ad-free, your support helps. If it saved you some time, please consider buying me a coffee! https://buymeacoffee.com/kose
