SubPeek - Caption & Dub Labels for YouTube
Overview
See which YouTube videos have captions and dubbed audio in your languages, right on the thumbnail.
SubPeek adds a small label to YouTube video thumbnails showing which subtitle and dubbed audio languages a video offers, so you know before you click. If you watch in more than one language, are learning one, or rely on captions, you can skip straight to the videos that have your languages. Your languages Pick your favorite languages once from the extension's toolbar icon or its settings page. English is selected by default. The label lights up only for your languages; click it to see every language the video has and mark new favorites on the spot. Privacy SubPeek collects no data: no analytics, no accounts, no code loaded from the internet, no servers of its own. It needs two permissions: "storage", to save your languages in your browser, and access to youtube.com, to read each video's languages and draw the labels. Lookups run only for thumbnails you scroll to, and the results stay in your browser for about half an hour. Good to know - Labels leave out auto-generated captions and the video's original audio track. - No label appears for private or age-restricted videos, or videos not available in your country.
