Submaker — Live Subtitles

Live captions and translated subtitles for the audio playing in your browser tab.

Submaker adds live captions and translated subtitles to audio playing in your selected Chrome tab. Choose your audio and subtitle languages, start from the Submaker toolbar button, and read a movable bilingual overlay while you watch. Paid credits are required to use subtitles. Installing the extension is free. One credit pays for one started minute. Credit packs are one-time purchases with no subscription: 20 credits for US$1.99, 100 for US$6.49, 300 for US$17.99, and 1,000 for US$57.99, plus applicable taxes at checkout. Purchases are processed by Polar, separately from Google. See current pricing, availability, terms and the unused-pack refund policy at https://submaker-ai.web.app. • Choose from 20 audio and subtitle languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Mongolian, with automatic audio-language detection. • Read translated subtitles with optional original text, drag the overlay, and customize text size, color and background. • Pause or stop capture, switch subtitles to another tab, and export the transcript as SRT, VTT or plain text. • Buy credits from the extension and have the purchased key added automatically. Existing keys can also be entered manually. Each key supports up to three browser activations. Start and manage subtitles from the toolbar while viewing the audio tab. Capture continues when you close the popup. Closing or navigating the captured tab stops capture. Pausing prevents new minute charges; an already paid minute continues to elapse. Reconnecting within that minute does not charge another credit. Extended silence pauses capture, and prolonged inactivity stops it. Starting subtitles sends selected-tab audio directly to Google Gemini or OpenAI for transcription. Transcript text and limited dialogue context pass through Submaker's gateway to the selected provider for translation. The service can switch providers if one is unavailable. Preferences, license keys, cached balances and the latest stopped transcript are stored locally. Submaker does not use your microphone or save audio recordings. Read the privacy policy before starting capture. Desktop Chrome 116+ and an internet connection are required. Protected players may restrict capture, and picture-in-picture windows do not carry the page overlay. Transcription and translation can contain errors.
