Overview
Shows any video's subtitles in your language as you watch, even subtitles burned into the picture. Any language to any language.
Watch TV in any language. Sublate reads the subtitles on the video in front of you and shows them in your language, line by line, in sync. It works in three situations: • The video has a caption track (YouTube, Netflix and most players): Sublate translates the track. • The player shows captions as text on the page: Sublate translates that text. • The subtitles are burned into the picture, as on many broadcasters' sites: Sublate crops the subtitle band from the frame and an AI model reads and translates it. No brittle OCR, no misread letters. Translations use the previous lines of the scene, so gender, who is speaking, slang and idioms come out the way a subtitler would write them. Each line stays on screen long enough to read. Cast the Chrome tab to a TV and the subtitles come along. Sign in with Google or Apple and you are set — no password to choose, no keys, no settings. Source language is detected from the page; the target defaults to your browser's language. Change either from the toolbar popup. 33 languages, any direction. Your plan belongs to you, not to this browser: sign in on another computer and your minutes are there too. See your plan, your minutes and your invoices from the toolbar popup or at https://sublate.io/account, and cancel in one click at any time — a cancelled plan still runs to the end of the period you paid for. Free: 20 minutes a month. Paid plans from $2.99 a month, billed by minutes of video translated. Privacy: the video never leaves your browser. Only subtitle text, or a thin crop of the subtitle band, is sent for translation — never page addresses, never titles, never what you watched. Signing in tells us your email address and nothing else about your Google or Apple account. Full policy: https://sublate.io/privacy Advanced: bring your own Anthropic, Google Cloud Translation or DeepL key and bypass our service entirely. Not for DRM video (Netflix, Disney+ and similar) when subtitles are burned in; those services provide caption tracks, which Sublate translates instead.
