CSS Variables marked as Syntax Error

In the Style Editor, the built-in validator throws a warning when fed this perfectly valid CSS:

:root {
--min-spacing: 2.4px;
}

thead th:last-of-type {
display: none;
}

.ic-app-nav-toggle-and-crumbs {
margin: var(--min-spacing);
}

Everything saves and works correctly, but this could cause confusion to people who are just learning about CSS variables. I suggest implementing a check for properties starting with -- in the validator.
