This allows my unfocused and possibly ADHD brain to read developer documentation and other boring (and sometimes poorly formatted) material which keeps my bills paid, I am truly a fan of this extension and use it every day.

Would love short cuts to open the reader. Ie select some text on a page click a short cut and the reader will open with the selected text.

You can select text on screen and press Alt+r to start stutter on just your selection. You can also select text and right-click and choose the context menu option "Stutter Selection". Finally, you can select text on the screen before clicking the browser icon to read just that selection. If you don't select text first then Alt-r and the icon will use the Mozilla Readability API to try and guess the main content of the page and read that to you. There are a number of other keyboard shortcuts if you prefer to use those. You can see them listed on the project README file here -
