StudySync for Blackboard turns your current Blackboard term into one organized study dashboard — on your own device. No account, no server, no tracking. WHAT IT DOES Discover your term Detects your current term and groups each subject's lecture and lab sections together, so "Operating Systems-3BM1" and "Operating Systems-BM01" appear as one subject instead of two unrelated courses. You confirm the term and subjects before anything is synced. Sync that does not break Syncing runs in the background, not inside the popup. You can close the popup, switch tabs, or keep browsing — the sync keeps going and the result is saved when it finishes. Turn on automatic sync to have StudySync check for new content every 30 minutes, hourly, or up to once a day, with an optional notification when something changes. Downloads that never overwrite your work StudySync remembers which files you already downloaded and what date they carried on Blackboard. The next download brings only what is new or what your instructor actually replaced — unchanged files are skipped. When a file was replaced, the new copy is saved as a separate, dated revision: Chapter 1.pptx <- your copy, with your annotations Chapter 1 (updated 2026-03-09).pptx <- your instructor's new version Your annotated file is never renamed, replaced, or touched. Files arrive in one ZIP, organized by subject and by Lecture, Lab, or Syllabus. Read announcements in full Announcements are shown complete and selectable, with a one-click copy button — no truncated preview that forces you back into Blackboard to read the rest. Plan your studying Builds a 7-, 14-, or 30-day study plan from your real due dates, with balanced subject rotation and spaced review. Completed sessions stay checked when you sync again. Export the plan as an ICS calendar file for any calendar app. Everything else - Upcoming due dates, published grades, and changes since your last sync in one view. - Reads clearly named PDF, PowerPoint, and Word syllabus files locally to find topics and dates. - Search and filter every indexed file by subject and by lecture or lab. - Light and dark appearance, following your system theme by default. - Export all of your local data as a JSON backup, or delete it in one click. PRIVACY Your course data, syllabus text, grades, and study plan stay in Chrome's local storage on your device. Nothing is sent to the developer or to any third party. There is no analytics, no advertising, no account, and no subscription. StudySync never reads or stores your Blackboard username, password, or session cookies. It reads only the course content your own signed-in session can already see, and only for the term you confirmed. Background sync is turned off by default. Turning it on asks for access to your own institution's Blackboard address only — nothing else. Declining leaves manual syncing working exactly as before. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO - It does not submit assignments, take quizzes, or change anything in Blackboard. It is read-only. - It does not access other students' data. - It does not merge your annotations into an updated file. You keep your annotated copy and receive the instructor's new version beside it. - It cannot see files on your computer. It compares your instructor's upload dates against its own download record.
