StudyBuddy is a time-management assistant that helps you earn your free time by studying first. Whether you're a student, a professional, or someone trying to stay focused in a world full of distractions, StudyBuddy makes it easier to build discipline and reward yourself—without relying on willpower alone. Once installed, StudyBuddy allows you to define two types of websites: • Prerequisite sites — where you study or work (e.g., LeetCode, Khan Academy, online classes) • Reward sites — where you relax (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Netflix) As you spend time on your approved study sites, StudyBuddy tracks your progress and converts it into earned time you can later spend on your reward sites. By default, the extension uses a balanced ratio—for every 60 minutes of focused study, you unlock 10 minutes of reward time. However, this ratio is fully customizable, as are the lists of study and reward websites. Here's how it works: • While you're on a study site, StudyBuddy quietly keeps track of your focus time. • When you visit a reward site, StudyBuddy checks your available reward time. • If you haven't earned enough, the reward site is blocked with a friendly reminder to study more. • Once you've accumulated time, the site is unblocked and your break begins. • As you use your break time, it counts down. When it runs out, the site is blocked again until more study time is earned. Visual Feedback Built In A floating icon gives you subtle, real-time feedback: • On study sites, the icon appears calm and focused, representing your "study buddy." • On reward sites, the icon relaxes while you enjoy your break. • If you run out of reward time, your study buddy looks sad—and the site is blocked. • If you're not on a tracked site, the icon remains hidden to avoid unnecessary distractions.
