Turn a supported lecture into a study route you can follow. HOW IT WORKS — 1, 2, 3 1. Open a recorded lecture. 2. Open the Synlecto browser extension. 3. Choose Create guide and start your study route. Before step 3, Synlecto shows the detected source and a clear data-use disclosure. You can then study with Guide, Flashcards, Missions, Quiz and Studio, returning to the original lecture whenever you need more context. Study Companion by Synlecto brings active study into Chrome’s side panel beside supported Panopto and YouTube lecture videos. When usable captions or transcript text are available, you choose when to create a source-linked guide, recall practice and clear next steps. Your lecture remains open while you study. FROM LECTURE TO ACTIVE STUDY • Guide: begin with Starting points, then move through concepts, comparisons, examples and checks drawn from the lecture source. • Flashcards: practise retrieving key ideas with source-grounded prompts created from your guide. • Missions: work through focused study activities connected to the lecture. • Quiz: check what you understand and identify what to revisit. • Studio: capture learner-owned notes, revisit concepts and keep source details together. • Library: search saved guides, focus on recently added work, continue studying or move into recall. • Return to the source: use available timestamps and source evidence to revisit the original explanation. • Listen your way: hear guide text using voices provided by Chrome or your operating system. PANOPTO, READY TO STUDY Open a supported Panopto recording and Study Companion can detect the lecture and place its study route beside the player. It also supports compatible Panopto recordings embedded in Canvas. Move between your guide, recall activities and the original explanation without replacing the lecture page or losing your place. Other compatible embedded lecture players may work when the page provides usable media, captions or transcript text. Availability varies by recording and page configuration. PRIVACY BEFORE PROCESSING You remain in control of when lecture content is processed. • Synlecto does not send lecture transcript or caption text to its servers until you choose Create guide or another clearly labelled cloud action. • When you create a guide, the relevant transcript or captions, source title, source URL and available timing metadata are sent securely over HTTPS. • Account, generated-guide and study-progress data are used to provide sign-in, syncing, security and the study features you request. • Synlecto does not sell extension data. • Synlecto does not use extension data for personalised advertising. • Synlecto does not use user content to train models. • Native read-aloud playback uses Chrome or your operating-system speech engine. Synlecto does not receive spoken audio. An account is required for cloud guide generation and account syncing. A Free plan is available with usage limits. Optional paid plans provide higher limits, with current limits shown inside the product.
