Learn Strudel with an AI coach that can see the pattern you are editing. Strudel AI Agent opens in Chrome's side panel beside strudel.cc, so you can ask questions, understand unfamiliar syntax, and get targeted rewrites without copying code between tabs. Use it as a Strudel tutor while you learn live coding, or as an assistant when you want to move faster on an existing pattern. WHAT IT DOES • Reads the live-coding pattern currently open in the Strudel REPL • Explains syntax, pattern transformations, sounds, scales, effects, and errors • Rewrites or extends your code from a natural-language request • Applies the newest code proposal to the editor, with one-click Undo • Warns when a requested bank or sound name is unavailable • Saves chat sessions and reusable patterns to your Lacuna account • Exports evaluated notes and timing as a standard MIDI file HOW TO USE IT 1. Install the extension and open https://strudel.cc 2. Click the Strudel AI Agent toolbar icon to open the side panel 3. Sign in with your Lacuna account 4. Ask about the current pattern or describe the change you want The assistant works with the code already in your editor, so it can answer in context instead of making you copy and paste the pattern into a separate chat. ACCOUNT AND USAGE A Lacuna account is required. Agent replies use credits from the same Lacuna account you use on lacuna.fm. New users can create an account from the extension without entering a payment card. PRIVACY AND SECURITY The extension runs only on strudel.cc and Lacuna. Your current Strudel pattern, chat messages, saved patterns, and session history are sent to the Lacuna API so the assistant can respond and your sessions can be restored. The OAuth access token is stored in Chrome session storage and is never exposed to the strudel.cc page. LIMITS The extension cannot start audio automatically because browsers require a real click in the Strudel page before audio may play. After applying code, press Ctrl+Enter in Strudel if playback is stopped. MIDI export preserves evaluated notes and timing. Synth parameters, effects, sample choice, and other audio-only details are not part of the MIDI format.
