Overview

UI enhancements for miniCRM: expanded tags, tag delete guard, custom column widths, smarter related lists, tidy notes & activity.

STRT Appearance is an internal browser extension developed for STRT to improve day-to-day usability of miniCRM — the CRM platform our team works in every day. Out of the box, miniCRM has a few UI quirks that slow things down: tags get cut off and are hard to read, a single accidental click on the delete button can remove a tag without any warning, the fixed column layout wastes screen space, and a contact's related records are lumped into one undifferentiated list with no visible status. This extension fixes all of these. 1. Tag Expander Tags in miniCRM are displayed in a compact, truncated format that hides their full content. Tag Expander gives you the choice to display them stacked (one per row, full width) or inline (side by side, wrapping naturally). Either way, tag names are shown in full up to 22 characters — no more guessing what's behind a clipped label. 2. Tag Delete Guard One misclick and a tag is gone. Tag Delete Guard adds a confirmation step before any tag is deleted, so accidents don't happen during fast-paced data entry. Choose between a clean modal overlay, a native browser confirmation dialog, or simply hide the delete button entirely if your team doesn't need it at all. An optional toast notification confirms when a deletion goes through. 3. Column Layout Entity detail pages in miniCRM have a fixed column layout that doesn't always make the best use of your screen. Column Layout adds two sliders to the extension popup: one for the form fields column width and one for the right sidebar. Drag to resize — your preferences are saved and applied automatically on every page load. 4. Applications & Opportunities On contact pages, miniCRM shows all related records in a single "Applications" list, and a record's status is only visible on hover. This feature splits that list into two clearly separated, stacked sections — Applications and Opportunities — based on each record's status group, so opportunities no longer get buried among applications. Each record also displays its full status text as a gray line beneath its name, visible at a glance without hovering. The split and statuses update automatically as you navigate between contacts. 5. Smart Ordering miniCRM lists related records in an effectively random order. Smart Ordering sorts each related-records block with sensible, per-type rules so the list always reads the way you expect: contacts alphabetically, courses in natural order (so "SM2" comes before "SM10"), and time-based lists with the most recent record on top. For the Applications list, records are ordered by the course date read from the course tag, with a popup option to put the newest or the oldest course first. Toggle it off anytime to fall back to miniCRM's default order. 6. Active Record When you open a record, it also appears in the related lists as a faint gray entry that's easy to miss. Active Record makes it stand out: choose its colour (gray or blue) and optionally make it bold. By default the current record is shown in blue and bold. 7. Deals Button On a course page, miniCRM offers no quick way to see everyone who signed up for that course. Deals Button adds a "Deals for this course" button to the course header — in the right-hand cluster, next to the modified-status and the menu, so it never crowds the record title. Clicking it opens miniCRM's filtered list of the related deals (applications) for that course — matched automatically by the course code — showing each record's name, status, and creation date. Pick the button's colour (blue, black, or red, matching miniCRM's own buttons) and choose whether the list opens in a new tab (default) or the same tab — or turn the button off — all from the extension popup. 8. Smart Notes & Activity On contact pages, the Activity feed and Tasks list get a tidy-up. Notes are reformatted so they're easy to scan: the author becomes the note's heading (instead of a generic "Completed" line), the type tags your team writes into a note (SCALL, MCALL, EMAIL, ADMIN) are lifted onto a row of colour-coded pills, and notes imported from ActiveCampaign carry a small info bubble with the original author, email, date and reference. You can switch the tag colours between colourful and mono, or turn the whole thing on or off. And when the Tasks box is empty, its heading and "New task" button stay while the tall empty placeholder collapses, so the Activity list sits higher. 9. Settings All preferences are managed through the extension popup. Changes apply instantly — no page reload needed. Settings sync across your Chrome browsers automatically. This extension is intended for internal use by STRT team members and currently runs exclusively on miniCRM. It does not collect any data, does not communicate with external servers, and stores only your UI preferences locally via Chrome's built-in sync storage.
