Overview
Record live HLS, recover interrupted captures, and save original video, audio tracks and subtitles entirely in your browser.
Save the video. Keep the quality. StreamSave brings video downloads, original audio export, and live HLS recording into a simple Chrome side panel. Media stays on your computer, with no desktop helper, media uploads, or re-encoding. FIND IT. CHOOSE IT. SAVE IT. Play a video on its website and open StreamSave to see detected media, or paste a direct media link. Choose an available quality, give the file a name, and save it to your computer. • Download supported MP4, WebM, completed HLS, and on-demand DASH video. • Keep original quality. Direct video files are saved unchanged; supported streams are repackaged without re-encoding. • Save just the audio in its original encoding. Select up to eight available audio tracks for supported streams. • Bring the subtitles. For completed HLS, save WebVTT subtitles as VTT or SRT, or embed a selected subtitle in compatible video output. RECORD LIVE HLS Capture supported, unencrypted live HLS video or audio. Use Stop & save to keep the captured portion. Recording continues when you close the side panel—just keep Chrome running and your device awake. RECOVER WHAT WAS CAPTURED When a supported HLS or fully segmented on-demand DASH capture is interrupted, save usable segments already stored locally. Recovery can also work after a browser restart if the local media is still available. It cannot restore missing or uncaptured media. KEEP DOWNLOADS ORGANIZED • Queue multiple videos and run up to 10 jobs at once. • Remember your preferred quality for future downloads. • Search and filter detected videos and download history. • Open completed downloads in their folder. • Turn on optional notifications when downloads finish or fail. LOCAL BY DESIGN No ads, analytics, telemetry, or developer-operated backend. Media requests go directly to the source websites and their delivery servers. Processing and temporary recovery storage stay in your browser. Source links and detected request context are held in browser session storage. Preferences, download history, and recovery media are stored locally. You can restrict website access in Chrome's extension settings; doing so may limit automatic detection. BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD Not every website or stream is supported. StreamSave does not bypass DRM, encryption, or website access restrictions. Live DASH, multi-period DASH, HLS byte ranges/discontinuities, and live or DASH subtitles are not supported. Stream output uses MP4, WebM, or MKV according to the source codecs. Audio export does not convert to MP3. Playback and embedded subtitle support depend on your player; separate subtitle files are available for supported completed HLS. Large captures depend on available local storage and supported media limits. Only save media you own or have permission to download. Requires Chrome 116 or newer. Open Help & support in the extension for format details, recovery limits, and troubleshooting.
