Overview
Save, switch, customize, and share tab workspaces from a lightweight Chrome side panel.
Organize your tabs, switch between saved workspaces, blur parts of webpages, and record selected areas as GIFs—all from a compact Chrome side panel. SAVE AND SWITCH WORKSPACES • Save an open window as a named tab group. • Organize groups into sessions and reopen them when needed. • Customize group names, colors, and icons. • Export groups and sessions as share codes, or import codes from others. • Open the full dashboard for a larger workspace view. ON-PAGE BLUR TOOLS • Hold Ctrl+B and drag to blur a selected area of a webpage. • Move, resize, or remove blurs directly on the page. • Use blur controls to help reduce accidental exposure of page content while streaming or sharing your screen. RECORD A SELECTED AREA AS A GIF • Press Ctrl+G on Windows or Command+G on Mac to draw a recording area. • Alternatively, click Record GIF, draw your area, and choose that same tab in Chrome’s sharing chooser. • Recording controls and the selection boundary appear outside the intended saved crop. • Click Stop & save to preview the GIF, then save it or discard it. • Click the X beside Stop & save to cancel a starting or active recording without saving. • GIFs are silent, recorded at approximately 8 frames per second, limited to 30 seconds, and exported up to 640 pixels wide. MORE ROOM FOR YOUR TABS Compact top controls, collapsible Page tools, and expandable session actions keep the side panel focused on your saved groups and tabs. LOCAL PROCESSING Workspaces and preferences are stored in your Chrome profile, and GIF frames are processed locally. Stream Tabs does not upload recordings or workspace data to a developer-operated server. You control the files you export and the share codes you send. IMPORTANT NOTES • If a shortcut is unassigned or conflicts with another extension, configure it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. • Page tools cannot run on Chrome’s protected internal pages. • When using Record GIF, select the same tab where you drew the recording area in Chrome’s sharing chooser. • Cosmetic blur is a visual effect, not secure redaction. It does not remove the underlying information or guarantee that sensitive content cannot be recovered. • Review recordings before sharing them.
