STRATA

A curated electronic music radio for YouTube: hand-picked channels, release info, BPM/key analysis and audio-reactive visuals.

STRATA turns YouTube into a radio for underground and authentic electronic music. It plays from a hand-picked selection of channels: the best of the best for electronic music that doesn't chase trends. No feed, no recommendations, no algorithm deciding what you hear. STRATA picks at random from each channel's entire upload history, so a track from last week is as likely as a forgotten gem from ten years ago. The algorithm only comes in if you ask for it. Optional radio modes let you lean towards fresh uploads or deep cuts, stay on one label or artist, or match tempo and key to the track that's playing. Leave them off and it's pure randomness. FOR DJs Every track comes with its release details: • Digital, vinyl or both: STRATA checks the release on Bandcamp and shows what formats exist • Sold-out vinyl: when Bandcamp's vinyl is gone, STRATA links straight to a Discogs search for the release, where you can buy a copy or add it to your wantlist • Release links: Bandcamp, SoundCloud and other links found for the track, one click away • Track analysis: tempo (BPM) and key, including modes such as Dorian and Phrygian, worked out live from the audio in your browser THE CHANNELS STRATA plays from six curated channels: Every play is a real view on the channel’s own YouTube page. If you find something you love, give the channel a like and subscribe. ALSO • Favourites: heart a track to keep it • Audio-reactive visuals inspired by real physics and forgotten experiments: sand on a vibrating Chladni plate, standing waves in a dish of water, voice figures, a ripple tank, oscilloscope traces and more • Skins to suit your setup • Continuous play: STRATA moves to the next track on its own PRIVACY No account and no tracking. STRATA doesn't collect, store or send your data anywhere. Track analysis runs entirely in your browser. To check formats, STRATA reads public Bandcamp and SoundCloud pages, the same as opening them yourself.
