)Overview
Sync Canvas courses to Straight-A Space, track upcoming and overdue coursework, and get deadline reminders.
Straight-A for Canvas helps you organize course materials in Straight-A Space and keep track of coursework deadlines. Connect your school’s Canvas site to browse your courses, and switch between sites if you study at multiple schools. When you are signed in to both Straight-A and your school’s site, the extension automatically syncs coursework information from your active, accessible courses, including deadlines, submission status, and available scores or grades. You do not need to save course files to Space to see to-dos or receive reminders. The To-dos tab brings together coursework across your connected sites. Upcoming shows items that need attention within the next 14 days. Overdue shows past-due items that still require attention. Submitted shows submitted coursework, including available grading results, with the most recently submitted items first. Items display their course, type, relevant dates, and available score or grade. Click an item’s title to open its original page. In the Courses tab, courses with materials already saved to Space appear first within their course group. Choose Go proactive to save accessible materials, such as assignment instructions, discussions, course files, and quizzes. Available submission details and instructor feedback are saved alongside their assignments. Choose Update materials to save new or changed content while reusing unchanged materials. The extension also checks previously saved active courses for material updates in the background when your sign-in sessions are available. Click a course title or its View button to open the corresponding course page on the Straight-A website when its course information is available. View in Straight-A opens the website’s matching To-dos or Courses view. The Straight-A website can communicate with the extension to show connection status, check your school’s sign-in session, open its sign-in page, and start saving a selected course. You can follow the save progress on the website while the extension collects and uploads the materials. Receive deadline reminders in the extension and through desktop notifications. You can open the related coursework, mark reminders as read, or turn off reminders for an individual item. A sidebar button lets you open the extension while browsing other websites. Move the button up or down, resize the panel, or turn the sidebar button off across websites using its close control or the extension’s menu. You must be signed in to your school’s Canvas site to read current course information and save or update materials. You can browse courses without a Straight-A account; saving materials, viewing to-dos, and receiving reminders require one. Previously loaded course information can remain visible when your school session expires, with a prompt to sign in again. Course and coursework information is automatically sent to Straight-A to provide to-dos and reminders. When you choose to save a course’s materials, accessible content is uploaded to Space and can subsequently be updated through background checks. Content availability depends on your account permissions and the extension’s supported content types. Straight-A for Canvas is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Instructure or your school.
