Overview

Save and restore windows with their tab groups, switch between projects in one click, and undo a lost session. No account.

Stowback saves a browser window exactly as it is and brings it back the same way: every page in order, pinned ones first, and tab groups with their names and colours. Press the toolbar button and choose Save, or use the shortcut. There is no sign-up. Give a project its own window and call it a workspace. From then on it keeps itself up to date as you work. Close it when you are done; return next week and it comes back as you left it. Switching between projects takes one click, or a few letters typed in the address bar. A right-click moves a page or a link into the project it belongs to. Too much open? Stow it. One shortcut saves the page you are on and closes it, and a right-click on the toolbar button does the same for a whole window, or for everything but the page in front. Their memory is freed, and they wait in a list until you want them. Mistakes are covered. While you browse, the extension notes what is open, at most once a minute, and remembers the last hundred tabs you closed. If you close something by accident, or the browser crashes, you find it in the timeline and reopen it. Deleting, replacing and cleaning up can all be undone. Large sets return quickly because they stay unloaded until you click them. Type to jump to anything open or saved. Add notes and tags, remove duplicates, copy links as a list, and sweep what you have not looked at for days into a snapshot. You can import a bookmarks file or any list of links, export to common formats, and make a backup you own. The free plan has unlimited snapshots, three workspaces and seven days of timeline. Pro, with a 14-day trial and no card needed, adds unlimited workspaces, a year of timeline, automatic backup files, rules that route new tabs to the right project, templates, and tools for merging and splitting. Everything stays on your device. The extension cannot read or change the sites you visit, has no account, no ads and no tracking, and never records private windows. Made by TheSocialForks.
