HOW DOES THE RECORD LIVE WORK?

A person I follow on Instagram went Live, so I tried using your app. I hit the Start Record button, but nothing really happened. Is something supposed to inform the person watching that it is recording? When the Live ended, I did not see anything informing me that the recording was over. Was the Live saved? If so, where is the Live video located? I'm really confused if this worked or not. Please reply!

Nice recent updates, but still some to go

Hi, thanks for the last updates after the summer changes, they made the extension much more usable :) Especially for fixing of losing stories in "Download all" (adding _2, _3, etc. for stories uploaded in the same minute), putting back the zoom possibility for photos, seeing who has stories and who has not in "Search", and saving stories hidden under "send reaction to see" :)
However there are still some issues:
1. Please remove "Stories_" prefix for zip archives ("Download all"), or allow to customize in options. We type first letters of file names to jump to them in file manager, and when it's all starting with "Stories_", it doesn't help much.
2. There is still a problem of inconsistent order in "Download all": when there is more than one story in one minute of mixed type (.jpg and .mp4), they get that numbering separately of each other and appear in different order than actually in stories. Please add seconds to the separate stories file names (or allow to customize in options), this should fix this problem. And then in case somebody manages to upload 2 pictures in one second, and _2, _3, etc.
3. Please pad single digits with zeroes in separate stories file names (and also zip archives): not 2024_9_2_5_3, but 2024_09_02_05_03 (and also add seconds for stories), or allow to customize in options. Otherwise sometimes there is a sorting problem.
4. Please set timestamps of files in zip archives ("Download all") according to the current time, not UTC time. If I unpack the archive to the current folder (and everything is sorted by time descending), separate stories appear elsewhere and not adjacent to the zip.
5. Can you also store the files in zip archive chronologically, so that the millisecond difference in their timestamp will allow them to be sorted by time in the same order as they sorted by name (and not in random order)? I don't know if you download in a single or multiple threads, but I think that can be done...
6. When clicking in the search input on "Search" tab to put cursor there, the list annoyingly reloads (with the same search results because the text has not changed yet). This does not happen with the search input on "Friends" tab (or maybe it does, but we just don't notice it there?). I use double or triple click to select all text in the search input and erase it with one press of Backspace/Delete, or even start typing a new search immediately. Now I have to click and hold and drag the mouse to select the entered text without making the list to reload, takes a bit more time and aiming. In the "Search" tab it is OK to run the search only by pressing Enter, not by focusing the input.

Not all photos downloading when you click "download all"

I tried downloading a set of photos. It said that there were 15 files, but when I opened the zip, only 14 files were showing. Some of the photos that are reshared from other accounts aren't downloading and some that the original account are sharing aren't downloading. This wasn't an issue before the updates.

I couldn't find a way to reply to your comment on my review, so I'm messaging you through here.

Let me start by saying that I use the page provided by the extension exclusively. I rarely open instagram anymore, so all the issues I describe here are on that page.

* Photos (and sometimes profile pictures) are not loading. This issue seems random. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Haven't found issues with videos, though.
* Regarding the keyboard navigation, it's unpredictable. First of, I usually open a user's stories, then press the LEFT arrow to go to the latest story. This is no longer possible in the new version, as the LEFT arrow will take me to the previous user instead. The unpredictability comes when I attempt to go back to the original user by pressing the RIGHT arrow. It will take me to the next story instead. So my issue is that SOMETIMES the arrows navigate through stories and SOMETIMES they navigate through users. This is similar to Instagram's UI which I really dislike. I've also noticed the keyboard navigation is very slow in the new version and sometimes it won't switch users, it'll just stay on the last story.
* The overlay click not closing the stories may be intended, and I can learn to live with it for sure. I feel like it breaks conventions, though. Almost every modal in any web app will close if you click the overlay. Exceptions include mandatory modals and ad stuff, but generally clicking the overlay closes the modal. It's just feels like a convention to me, but it's the least of my issues with the new version tbh.
* As for improvement for the UX other than performance: I miss clicking on the avatars to go to the profile. The only thing I use instagram's UI for is to see at the users' feed. This is no longer easy in the new UI as clicking the avatar opens the stories. I also miss the "search" button. You now have to press ENTER. to search. Minor grip, but the button made it easier for my flow to just click it. The results also seem to be pretty lackluster. I believe someone mentioned it only shows results of users with stories? Not sure if true, but it definitely shows less results than before.
* As for the slowness, it's not really instagram.com. It's the page provided by the extension. In just feels kinda clunky? The loading times seem to be slower for some reason, but that besides, the UI feels a bit slow to respond to user input.

I hope that helps! I also have a few suggestions (no idea how hard they'd be to implement, though).

* Would be cool if the arrow navigation was a setting. Something like "Stories cycle infinitely/Go to next user on last story"? I'm sure some users prefer to just go to the next user.
* Same thing with the overlay. Could be a setting "close stories on overlay click".
* Maybe even the avatar click? "Clicking avatars open user's profile".

I'm a front-end developer with a bit of free time, not sure if the project is open source or not, but let me know if I can help in some way.

MALA ACTUALIZACIÓN

Esta última actualización tarda demasiado en cargar las stories de video, además de cuando guarda los zip de descargas no los descarga con el nombre del perfil, esta bastante incomodo la interacción de buscar con botón Enter y que hayan quitado el zoom en las imagenes. Se agradecería que lo volvieran a integrar con las funciones mencionadas.

The last update is terrible 2

In addition:
5. I used to click the empty space to the left or the right of the image/video to close the viewer and return to the list. Now it does nothing. X in the corner is hard to aim and easy to miss. Have to use Escape button now. Would be great to return how it was.

The last update is terrible

1. Can't open IG page by clicking the name in the list, instead opens the story viewer. It was OK to open the viewer from the eye icon previously. I need to be able to quickly open the page, and not need to open the viewer and then click the account name there...
2. Instead of scrolling from the last to the first story by pressing > arrow, it now skips to a story of a random followed account. And I even can't go back by pressing < arrow (if that was accidental), it just skips to the main screen.
3. When using "Download all", the archive is named "Story_datetime.zip", ""Story_datetime (1).zip", etc., this is terrible! It should be named as before (accountname_timestamp.zip). In the previous message I asked if you can order files inside ZIP by timestamp (so that I can unpack and view them in the order they were on IG), but instead this is even more broken now.
4. In Search (not followed accounts as well) it only shows accounts which have stories now? Previously it showed all and I could click and open the page on IG and check it. Now it's impossible. Because "Friends" page was a bit unreliable (some followed accounts with stories sometimes would not show up, so I needed to go to Search and find them there; in this case now they will be found I think, but if not - does this 100% mean there are no stories at all, or no NEW stories?)
Hopefully you'll be able to fix this soon, please.

Can't save stories

I don't know what happened between yesterday and today, but you can't save stories from people you don't follow anymore. The location and tags tabs are gone as well.
