Storeprobe: Competitor Store Inspector
Overview
See what any Shopify store launched and repriced, from its public catalogue. History stays on your computer.
A rival store sells what you sell. Storeprobe shows what it launched, what it repriced and what sold out, using the public product list every Shopify store serves. It keeps each read on your computer, so the next read shows what changed. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the store you want to watch and stay on its tab. 2. Click the Storeprobe icon, then Read this store. One click is one read: up to 10 requests for the store's own product list, 250 products each, half a second apart, plus 2 requests for its best-selling collection page. 3. Come back later and read it again. The popup sets the new read against the last one. WHAT YOU SEE • The product count, the theme name and the apps it recognises from the scripts the page loads, plus other script hosts • The newest launches by published date, each with its lowest price • Since the last read: products launched, removed, repriced and sold out or back in stock • Price changes marked up in red pen: the old price struck through, the new price, the change in per cent, the was-price when a mark-down starts or ends, and the SKUs • Best sellers: the store's own best-selling order, read from its collection page, with the top products and their prices • Pro: sales signals marked est. between two reads (a product climbing the best sellers, entering or leaving them, selling out or coming back in stock), a timeline of earlier reads, and CSV files of the products and of the changes WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • A free read happens only when you click, on the tab you clicked it on. The only background work is Pro's daily re-read, and it covers only the stores you allowed one by one • It stops at the first answer that is not a plain product list, such as an error or a bot check page, says so and saves nothing from that read • One read takes at most 2,500 products. A bigger store is marked as partly read, and removals are not reported for it • It shows what the store publishes. A sales signal is an estimate from the catalogue and the best-selling order, not an order count. There are no revenue or traffic figures, and no change alerts • It reads only pages that identify themselves as a Shopify store over https FREE AND PRO Free: one store at a time, its current catalogue, best sellers, newest launches, theme and apps, and what changed since your last visit. Reading another store replaces the saved one. Pro: up to 25 tracked stores, sales signals marked est., a daily re-read of each tracked store you allow access to (from the popup, one store at a time), the timeline of every read (the last 30 changes per store) and CSV export. Pro is a one-time payment with no subscription, either a lifetime pass or a one-year pass. The current prices are in the popup under Upgrade. New installs include Pro for 7 days, no card. When it ends, your saved stores stay and only the Pro features switch off. The licence key comes with the Payhip receipt; paste it in the popup under Upgrade. PRIVACY The stores you read, their products and your history stay in this browser. Storeprobe sends nothing to a server unless you act: activating or re-checking a Pro key sends the key, and pressing Send on the feedback form sends the text you typed, your email only if you entered one, and the version number. No account, no analytics. PERMISSIONS, AND WHY • activeTab and scripting: to read the product list of the tab you clicked Storeprobe on, from that tab's own address. There is no host permission, so the extension can see nothing on a tab until you use it there • storage: your saved stores and history, the licence key and the trial dates • alarms: the once-a-day timer for Pro's daily re-reads • Optional access to one store's own address: asked only when you press Allow access for a tracked store, so the daily re-read can fetch that store's public pages. You can withdraw it at any time Not affiliated with Shopify. Read only the stores whose terms allow it.
