Stop Yapping translates walls of text into something you can actually read. Open any article, blog post, forum thread, docs page, or release note, click the icon, and get the point in seconds — as a one-line TL;DR, a few bullets, a short summary, or a structured breakdown. WHAT IT DOES • Summarizes the page you are currently on in one click, streamed as the model writes it. • Four output styles: TL;DR, Bullets, Summary, and Detailed. • Writes in any language you choose, independent of the page's own language. • Clears the clutter first — navigation, ads, cookie banners, sidebars, footers — so the summary reflects the real content, not the page chrome. • Handles modern app-style pages, including threads and feeds that render inside shadow DOM. • Remembers the last summary for the current page, so reopening the popup is instant. • Keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+Y, Cmd+Shift+Y on macOS) to open it without leaving the keyboard. WHY INSTALL IT • Your key, your model, your cost. You plug in your own API key and choose the model, so there is no subscription, no per-summary markup, and no shared quota. Use a cheap model for casual reading, or a frontier model when it matters. • No account and no middleman. There is no signup, no first-party server, and no analytics. Your key and the page text go only to the provider you selected. • Cheap by default. The pre-selected models are fast and inexpensive, so a typical summary costs a fraction of a cent. • Works with the AI provider you already use, plus local models if you prefer to run everything on your own machine. • Confirm it works before you rely on it: a built-in Test button checks your key and model in one click. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open Settings and add an API key for at least one provider. 2. Pick a provider, model, and summary style in the popup. 3. Click Summarize. Only the readable text of the current page is sent, and only when you ask. PRIVACY API keys are stored locally in your browser profile and are never sent to the developer or synced to any account. Page text is transmitted only to the AI provider you select, only when you press Summarize. No tracking, no analytics, no backend.
