Stoic Focus - Blocking Distractions with Inspiration
Overview
Maintain focus by temporarily blocking access to distracting websites with a motivational overlay.
Stoic Focus helps you reclaim your browser-based attention with a simple idea: what if you could temporarily block distracting domains when trying to get your work done? How it works: 1. Open the side panel by clicking the extension. 2. Add the domains you want to block (e.g. youtube.com, reddit.com, x.com). 3. Set a timer and start. A few other points of focus: •Blocked Domain Overlay: While the timer is running, visiting any blocked site replaces the page with a motivational overlay drawn from a curated set of Stoic/focus quotes. The quote rotates daily. •Presets: save your common blocklists (e.g., "No Social Media", "No Email", "No Streaming") and enable them in one click. •Side Panel UI: manage blocklists and timers alongside your browsing instead of in a popup that closes the moment you click away. •Flexible Timers: 1 minute to 24 hours. •Override Built In: the overlay has an Override button if you genuinely need to get to the site. All you need to do is type: "This is not a distraction". Free, open, and built for people who'd rather change their environment than rely on willpower.
