Characteristics: Herbaceous plant, about 30–80 cm tall, soft stem, with fine hairs. Leaves grow opposite, ovate or oval, serrated edges, soft hairy surface and have a characteristic foul smell when crushed. Flowers grow in clusters at the top, light purple or blue-purple, very small but clustered into clusters. Distribution: Often grows wild along roadsides, vacant lots, and fields. Uses: In folk medicine, stinking grass is used to stop bleeding, treat sore throats, respiratory tract infections and some skin diseases.
