Stop explaining the same five clicks. Every agency, bookkeeper and freelancer loses days a month walking clients through the same access request — "open the gear menu, then Manage users, then the Accountants tab". You explain it on a call, they forget, you write it out, they still get stuck on step 3, and nobody ever tells you where. StepProof turns that into one recording and one link. HOW IT WORKS 1. Press Start recording and do the task once, on the real site. 2. Every click becomes a numbered step with a screenshot, a highlight ring on the thing you clicked, and a title written from the button you pressed. 3. Press Stop and you land in an editor — fix a title, blur one more thing, delete a step, or write one by hand. 4. Send it. Each client gets their own link. No signup, no password, no account for them, ever. 5. Watch the drop-off view: who opened it, which step each person reached, and who is stuck. ANYTHING PRIVATE IS BLURRED BEFORE IT UPLOADS This is the part that matters if you are recording inside a client's books, ad account or CRM. Redaction happens in your browser, not on a server. The extension reads the text in each screenshot locally — the OCR engine is bundled with the extension and runs offline — finds emails, account numbers, phone numbers and amounts, and destroys those pixels: downsample, blur, repaint. It is not a CSS filter and not a black box drawn on top; the data is gone from the image before it is encoded. Only that redacted PNG is uploaded. The original never leaves your browser, and there is no part of our API that would accept one. It deliberately never blurs buttons, links or navigation, because a blurred "Add people" button is a broken guide. If it misses something, drag a box over it in the editor and it is blurred for everyone holding the link, including people you already sent it to. If it over-blurs, click the region to reveal it again. WHAT YOUR CLIENT GETS One link that opens on a phone and shows one step at a time, with your logo and your colour on it. It remembers where they got to. There is an "I'm stuck" button that tells you exactly which step they stopped on and what they typed — instead of an email three days later saying "it didn't work". THE PART NOBODY ELSE DOES Other tools tell you a document was opened. StepProof tells you that four people were sent it, three opened it, one finished, and one has been sitting on step 2 for two days — so you chase one person, once, about the right thing. Paid plans never meter guides, sends or recipients — the only ceiling is screenshot storage, and connecting your own Google Drive or S3 bucket removes that too. Only while a recording is running, and never before you press Start. - Storage: to keep the pairing key and the recording in progress, so a browser restart mid-walkthrough does not lose your steps. - Tabs: because a walkthrough moves between tabs, and a tab that cannot hear the extension captures nothing.
