Overview

Reminds you to drink water, stand up, and check your posture at configurable intervals.

Stay hydrated. Sit up straight. Move a little. STEP up your health is a quiet reminder for anyone who loses hours to a screen. Pick an interval, and every so often a calm overlay appears on the tab you're already looking at: drink some water, stand up, check your posture. Dismiss it, and the timer resets. WHAT IT DOES • Reminders on your schedule — any interval from 5 to 240 minutes (default: 60) • Pick which ones you want — water, standing up, posture, or any combination • A full-page overlay on your active tab, not a notification you'll dismiss without reading • Snooze 5 minutes when you're in the middle of something • Auto-dismisses after 30 seconds if you've stepped away • Pause anytime without losing your interval setting • A test button, so you can see exactly what a reminder looks like before you commit to one BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY • No account. No sign-up. No login. • No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry. • The extension makes no network requests at all — nothing about you is ever sent anywhere, because nothing is ever sent anywhere. • Your two settings (interval and paused) are stored with Chrome's built-in sync, so they follow you to your other Chrome browsers. That's the only data the extension stores. • The overlay renders inside an isolated Shadow DOM, so it can't be broken by the page you're on — and it can't break the page either. ABOUT THE PERMISSIONS Extensions have to ask for permissions up front, and it's fair to wonder why. Here's the honest accounting: • Alarms — schedules your reminder so it survives Chrome putting the extension to sleep in the background. • Storage — remembers your interval and whether you've paused. • Scripting + activeTab — draws the overlay on the tab you're currently viewing, at the moment it's time to take a break. This deliberately avoids requesting access to all your websites; the extension can only touch the active tab, and only when the timer goes off. • Notifications — some pages, like Chrome's own settings pages, don't allow overlays. On those, the reminder falls back to a normal system notification so you don't miss it. Free, and open about what it does.
