Stash — your calm personal start page for Chrome. A thoughtful replacement for the new tab page. One quiet, beautiful place to organize the things you actually use every day: the links you keep losing, the notes you keep forgetting, the habits you want to build, and a focus timer that stays out of your way. Everything is stored locally on your device. No account, no sign-in, no tracking, no analytics. Your data never leaves Chrome. — LINKS, FOLDERS & READING LIST — • Save links with categories, pin favorites, sort by manual / alphabetical / most clicked / unread first • Organize links into folders with custom emoji icons — folders open as a modal so you don't lose your place • Reading list: links default to unread, marked with a small accent dot; mark read by clicking or via right-click • Right-click any link for pin, copy URL, move to folder, mark read/unread, or remove — Undo toast appears after every delete — NOTES & TASKS — • Markdown supported: **bold**, *italic*, `code`, [links](url), - lists, hashtags, and clickable inline [ ] checkboxes you can tick off • Six per-note colors for visual sorting (warm, cool, green, pink, purple, gray) • Note templates: Daily journal, Meeting notes, Weekly review — and add your own • Drag to reorder; click to edit; right-click for pin / remove — HABITS — • Daily, weekdays, weekends, M·W·F, or T·T·S schedules — streaks only count scheduled days • Goal streaks with a progress ring (e.g. "30-day goal") • GitHub-style year heatmap shows your full habit history at a glance — FOCUS TIMER — • Floating Pomodoro pill in the bottom corner with a smooth progress ring around its border • Customizable work and break minutes • Four ambient end-sounds (Off / Bell / Chime / Soft) generated locally via Web Audio • Runs in the background — start a session, close the tab, and your timer keeps ticking • Desktop notification ("Focus session complete" / "Break over") when a phase ends and you're not on the page; silent if the page is open so your Stash sound plays instead • Persists across browser restarts • Weekly stats panel and all-time stats page (sessions, total focus time, best 7-day run, average per day, 30-day chart) — SEARCH DONE RIGHT — • Type to filter your stash live • "/word" — local search across links, notes, and habits, even when a web engine is selected • "= 24 * 7" — instant math (supports sqrt, sin/cos, log, pi, e, parens, powers) • Custom search engines with bang prefixes: y! for YouTube, w! for Wikipedia, gh! for GitHub, m! for Maps — add your own • Default engine: Stash, Google, DuckDuckGo, or Bing — POWER-USER SHORTCUTS — • Cmd/Ctrl + K — fuzzy command palette across links, notes, categories, actions, AND your Chrome bookmarks • l — add link · n — add note · h — add habit · t — start/stop focus timer • / — focus search bar · Esc — close any open panel • Right-click anywhere for contextual actions — WORKSPACES — • Switch between Personal, Work, or any number of separate stashes • Each workspace has its own links, folders, notes, habits, AND theme — flip the entire vibe with one click — PERSONALIZATION — • Six theme presets (Library, Ocean, Forest, Dusk, Sand, Paper) — dark and light • Six accent colors and three card sizes (Compact, Comfortable, Spacious) • Three container widths (Narrow, Normal, Wide) • Animated drift background (optional) or custom background image upload • Drag-reorder all on-page sections from settings • 12 / 24 hour time format, or auto — EXTRAS — • Today's focus input ("What's your focus today?") that resets at midnight • Countdown to any date (vacation, deadline, birthday) • Daily quote from a curated collection • Optional weather widget (Open-Meteo, free, no API key needed) • Top sites from Chrome history (optional, opt-in) • Recently closed tabs section (optional, opt-in) • Weekly stats with trend lines (vs last week comparisons) • Marquee slide on hover for long card titles • Welcome tour you can re-open from settings anytime • Toolbar button: "Add this page to Stash" popup that pre-fills the current URL and lets you pick a workspace • JSON backup & import for migrating between devices or browsers — PRIVACY — All data lives on your device in chrome.storage.local. No accounts. No servers. No tracking. No analytics. No ads. The only outbound network request is to Open-Meteo if (and only if) you enable the weather widget — and only your configured city's coordinates are sent. Permissions, plainly: • storage — saves your data locally • favicon — shows site icons next to links • topSites — optional section showing your most-visited Chrome sites • bookmarks — command palette can find matching Chrome bookmarks • sessions — optional section showing recently closed tabs • tabs — the toolbar popup reads the current page's URL and title when you click it • alarms — the background focus timer schedules a wakeup at the end of each phase • notifications — desktop notification when a focus session or break ends Stash is designed to fade into the background until you need it.
