Save rendered articles and YouTube transcripts to your local Starlee brain.

Starlee Capture saves articles and YouTube transcripts you choose into Starlee, a local-first knowledge library for your Mac. How it works: 1. Install and run the Starlee desktop app on macOS. 2. Open an article or YouTube video in Chrome. 3. Click the Starlee macOS menu-bar app. 4. Starlee Capture extracts readable text, transcript content when available, and page metadata from the current tab. 5. The capture is sent only to the Starlee app running locally on your own computer. Starlee Capture is designed for a single purpose: saving the page or YouTube transcript you explicitly choose into your local Starlee library. Privacy: Starlee Capture does not upload article bodies, transcripts, browsing history, vault data, or capture tokens to Starlee servers. Captures are stored locally by the Starlee app in ~/Starlee. The extension communicates with the Starlee desktop app through 127.0.0.1, the loopback address for your own computer. It does not send captured page content to third-party analytics, advertising, data broker, or profiling services. Why site access is requested: Starlee Capture needs access to web pages so it can extract readable article text and YouTube transcript content from pages you choose to save. This also supports the native macOS menu-bar save flow: because the menu-bar app runs outside Chrome, clicking it does not grant Chrome's temporary activeTab permission, so the extension needs to be available on pages the user may choose to save. Starlee Capture acts only when you choose to save the current page through the toolbar button, in-page save button, or Starlee menu-bar app. It is not a background browsing-history collector.
