Standby keeps browser tasks running in the background — persistently and autonomously. GET STARTED IN SECONDS Install this extension, open the side panel, choose Cloud mode, and sign in. No local setup needed — start your first task in under a minute. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the side panel and type a goal, like "monitor my inbox" or "track this product's price" 2. Standby observes the page, plans the next action, and executes it directly in your browser 3. Each task runs in its own Chrome tab group, checking on a schedule and running when needed If something goes wrong, Standby pauses and waits for you. WANT FULL CONTROL? RUN LOCALLY For complete privacy, run everything on your machine: 1. Install the local companion app: npm install -g standby-agent 2. Open the side panel and choose Local mode 3. Bring your own API key for Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini In local mode, the extension connects only to your machine at 127.0.0.1. Your data stays in a local SQLite file.
