Overview

Overlay arrows, highlights, and spotlight on any page while presenting.

Stagehand is a lightweight presentation overlay for your browser. Draw arrows, highlight text, spotlight your cursor, and capture full-page screenshots — all from the right-click menu, with no setup and no account. WHO IT'S FOR Presenters, educators, tutorial creators, and anyone who shares their screen or records walk-throughs. If you've ever wished you could point at something on a web page during a demo without installing a separate screen-annotation app, Stagehand does it in the browser. HOW IT WORKS Right-click anywhere on a page and choose "Stagehand" from the context menu. Pick a tool and start annotating. Your arrows and highlights are pinned to the page — scroll away and they stay put. Press Escape to clear everything, or Shift+Escape to undo just the last mark. TOOLS • Arrow — click and drag to draw a clean block arrow pointing where you need. Choose colour (red, yellow, blue, white), thickness, and arrowhead style. • Highlight — select text to paint a translucent highlight that stays readable. Only the highlight colour shows — no dark overlay. • Spotlight — dims the whole page except a circle around your cursor, like a desk lamp. Perfect when an arrow would cover the button you're pointing at. • Full-page screenshot — captures the entire scrollable page (not just the viewport), including your annotations, as a single PNG. Saved to your downloads; copied to clipboard when possible. SETTINGS Open the settings page (click the Stagehand toolbar icon) to configure: • Arrow colour, thickness, arrowhead style, drop shadow, and draw-on / pulse animations • Highlight colour and opacity • Spotlight dim level, radius, cursor halo, and click ripple • Timed fade (annotations auto-disappear after 2/4/8/12 seconds, or never) • Page-attached mode (default on — arrows move with the page when you scroll) • Freeze screen (blocks page interaction while you annotate) • Export / import your settings as JSON — move your config to another browser CONTROLS • Right-click → Stagehand → [tool] — activate any tool • Escape — clear all annotations • Shift+Escape — undo the last annotation • All other actions live in the right-click menu — no keyboard shortcuts to memorise PRIVACY Stagehand collects no data. No analytics, no trackers, no remote servers. Your settings are stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.sync). Screenshots are saved to your device — nothing is uploaded. See the privacy policy for details.
