Overview

Visual bookmarks on your new tab: speed dial, spaces and search. Save all tabs in one click, as plain Chrome bookmarks. No account.

Stackboard is a visual bookmark manager for your new tab page. Your bookmarks sit on one board you can scan at a glance, like a speed dial with folders: group links into spaces (Work, Study, Side projects) and stacks, then open what you need in one click. Everything is saved as plain Chrome bookmarks, so there's no account to make. Save all tabs in one click • Too many tabs open? Save every tab in the window as bookmarks with one click, or press Alt+Shift+S, and close them in the same step. Each tab group becomes its own stack. • Declare tab bankruptcy: save all tabs in every window at once and start fresh, with a certificate to prove it. • Select a few tabs (Ctrl or Shift+click) and save just those. • Reopen any stack later as a named tab group. Get started in a minute • Bring in your bookmarks bar in one click. Each folder becomes a stack, and your original bookmarks stay where they are. • Or start from a ready-made pack (Everyday, Developer, Design, Study, Work). Your new tab, your look • Eight color themes, most with a light and a dark version, including a true black mode and the cream default. • Light, dark, or follow your system. • Add a gradient or your own wallpaper, with dim and blur. The picture stays on this computer. • Compact density for big boards. A start page that keeps up • Search every space at once. Press / to jump to search and Enter to open the top result. • Keys 1 to 9 jump between spaces. • Drag bookmarks between stacks, and drag a stack onto another space in the sidebar to move it. • A small dot marks bookmarks that are already open, and clicking one switches to that tab, so you stop opening duplicates. • Undo any delete with the Undo button or Ctrl+Z. • Save the page you're on from the toolbar button, straight into any stack. • Bookmarks open like any link: Ctrl or Cmd+click, middle-click and the right-click menu all work. Plain Chrome bookmarks Everything lives in Chrome's own bookmarks, under "Other bookmarks → Stackboard": • Chrome syncs your board to every device signed into your Google account. • It works offline, and you can edit the same bookmarks in chrome://bookmarks. • Uninstalling leaves your bookmarks where they are. • Export and import everything as JSON from Settings. Privacy No analytics, no tracking, no ads and no account. Your bookmarks stay in your browser and your Chrome sync. Free and open source (MIT): github.com/swole/stackboard
