Overview
Paste SQL and get clean, indented formatting instantly, on-device — indent, keyword case, and standard dialect.
SQL formatter & beautifier — paste a query, get clean indented SQL instantly Production queries shouldn't have to go through a random web formatter. SQL Formatter & Beautifier is a paste-and-format tool for developers, data analysts, and anyone who works with SQL — it cleans up a messy query instantly, entirely inside the popup, without a round trip to some third-party website that might log what you paste. Paste a query in, and the popup instantly shows: - A cleanly indented, line-broken version of your SQL, generated on-device as you paste — no "Format" button to click, no waiting. - Indent control: 2-space, 4-space, or tab, remembered between sessions. - Keyword casing: UPPERCASE, lowercase, or preserve-as-typed, also remembered between sessions. - Standard SQL formatting, free — the ANSI-ish baseline dialect most queries already parse cleanly under. - One-click copy of the formatted result. - Graceful handling of a query that doesn't parse: a clear inline message instead of a broken or blank popup, so a stray syntax error in a half-written query never gets in your way. PRIVATE BY DESIGN This is a paste-mode tool: it never reads the active tab or any page content, requests no host permissions, and injects no scripts. The SQL you paste never leaves your browser — every bit of formatting, minifying, and placeholder detection runs locally via a bundled formatting library, not a server. This extension collects no data of any kind — no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry. The only network traffic it ever makes is a purchase-verification check with ExtensionPay if you choose to upgrade. HONEST ABOUT SCOPE Formatting is whitespace/indentation/casing only — this tool does not validate that your SQL is semantically correct against any particular database schema, and it does not execute queries against any database (it never connects to one). The free tier formats against a single standard SQL dialect; database-specific syntax quirks in other dialects (PostgreSQL, MySQL, T-SQL, BigQuery, and others) are a premium feature, listed below. Parameter-placeholder highlighting recognizes the common `?`, `:name`, and `$1`-style placeholder conventions — it does not attempt to parse every possible driver-specific parameter syntax. FREE, AND GENUINELY USEFUL - Instant format/beautify as you paste, on-device. - 2/4/tab indent control, remembered between sessions. - UPPERCASE/lowercase/preserve keyword casing, remembered between sessions. - Standard SQL dialect. - One-click copy. - Clear, non-crashing handling of a query that doesn't parse. PREMIUM ($5 one-time) Built for anyone who works across more than one database: - Minify: collapse a formatted query down to a single compact line. - Every additional SQL dialect the bundled formatter supports beyond standard SQL — including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server (T-SQL), BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, SQLite, and more. - Saved snippets: save named queries locally and reload them later, plus a local history of recent formats. - Parameter-placeholder highlighting: visually mark `?`, `:name`, and `$1` placeholders in the formatted output. No subscription, no account required — pay once, keep the features.
