Sprout
Overview
Block distracting sites by hostname. Stay on your own plot.
Sprout is a small Chrome extension that blocks distracting websites by hostname. One job, done well. Block a site two ways: - From the toolbar. Click the Sprout icon, type a hostname like example.com, and hit Add. Any URL pasted in, such as https://www.example.com/some/path, is normalized to the host. - From any page. Right-click -> "Block this site". Sprout adds the current page's host and immediately redirects the tab to the block page. Built for focus, not for noise. - Subdomain matching: adding example.com also blocks news.example.com. - Your blocklist syncs across the devices where you're signed in to the same Chrome profile, via Chrome's own sync. Sprout never sees your data. - No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no telemetry, no external requests. Sprout makes zero network calls. - Open source: full code at github.com/Prisma-Labs-Dev/chrome-site-blocker Privacy: the only data Sprout stores is the list of hostnames you choose to block. It lives in Chrome's chrome.storage.sync API. It is never transmitted to Prisma Labs or anyone else.
