It allows QA testers, developers, and product managers to instantly inject the interactive Spotting bug-reporter widget into any website without modifying the website's source code. Whether you are performing acceptance testing, QA verification, or collecting client feedback on staging, Spotting Capture lets you report bugs in real-time with full contextual diagnostic information. ✨ KEY FEATURES • Direct Widget Injection: Load the floating Spotting bug-reporter onto any web page with one click. • Full Recording & Screenshots: Capture high-quality video walkthroughs or page screenshots directly from the page. • Automated Diagnostics: Capture console logs, network activity, screen resolution, browser version, and operating system details automatically. • Monorepo Integration: Seamlessly map your bug reports to specific projects configured in your Spotting workspace. • Secure Storage: Persist your API Endpoint and Public Keys locally so you can start reporting immediately. 🛠 HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the Spotting Capture icon in your browser toolbar. 2. Enter your API Base URL (e.g., https://spotting.dev) and your Project Public Key (starts with spk_live_). 3. Select "Save settings". 4. Click "Inject widget on this tab". The floating bug reporter will appear on the bottom corner of your page. 5. Capture your bug, fill in the title/description, and submit! 🔒 PRIVACY & SECURITY Spotting Capture only injects scripts on tabs where you explicitly request it. All diagnostic information and media (videos/screenshots) are transmitted securely to your self-hosted Spotting server instance or your designated cloud API endpoint. No data is shared with third parties.
