Overview

Blur spoilery text on the web, with click-to-reveal.

Spoiler Block — see what it's about, not what happens. Most spoiler tools black out the whole headline, so you can't even tell whether it's worth reading. Spoiler Block does the opposite: it keeps the title or term you care about visible and blurs only the surrounding spoiler text. You see "The Last of Us" — you don't see what happens to anyone in it. Click anywhere to reveal the full text for that browsing session. What it does Preview, not blackout. The matched title/term stays readable; the spoilery words around it blur. One click reveals everything. Block any phrase yourself. Highlight text on a page, right-click, and choose "Add as a spoiler phrase." From then on that phrase is blurred wherever it appears — matched 100% on your device. Runs everywhere, or only where you want. Out of the box, Spoiler Block works on every site. Add sites to a block list to keep it off them entirely, or switch to "Only sites I choose" to limit it to a watch list you control. The block list always wins. Tune what counts as a spoiler. Set a recency window (1, 3, 7, 30, 90, or 180 days) and toggle categories (shows, movies, games, books, sports, music). Free vs. Plus Free — your pages stay on your device. Manual spoiler-phrase blocking, on every site by default (or only the sites you choose). Phrase matching happens entirely on your device. The free tier sends no page content anywhere; the only network contact is the payment provider (ExtensionPay) checking whether you have Plus. Plus — automatic spoiler detection. Wherever Spoiler Block runs — every site by default, minus your block list, or only the sites you choose — AI detects spoilers about recently-released titles (shows, movies, games, books, sports, music). It sends the visible headline text plus the site's hostname to our own backend for classification, then blurs only the headlines that fall inside your chosen recency window. No full URLs, no browsing history, no account or user ID are sent. NOTE on permissions: When you install, Chrome shows a standard warning that Spoiler Block can "read and change your data on the websites you visit." This is required because Spoiler Block runs on every site by default — you can restrict it to a block list or a chosen watch list any time. It does not mean we read your browsing history, and we don't. What actually happens: Free version: everything stays on your device. Your spoiler phrases and site lists are matched locally — no page content, no history, nothing leaves your browser. Spoiler Block Plus (optional, paid): on the sites where it runs — all sites by default, minus your block list, or only the sites you choose — it sends the visible headline text and the site's hostname to our own server to detect which headlines are about recently-released titles. We never send full URLs, browsing history, or any account or user ID. No tracking, no ads, no analytics SDKs, and we never sell your data. Deletion requests or questions: support@getspoilerblock.com.
