●Split Scroll Viewer● Split Scroll Viewer is a Chrome extension that turns long web pages into an easy-to-read, multi-column layout similar to facing pages in an e-book. When reading on a desktop, wide margins, advertisements, rankings, related articles, and side panels can leave only a narrow area for the main content. Split Scroll Viewer displays a long page as two to five connected columns, making better use of widescreen monitors. In left-to-right mode, the content continues from the bottom of the left column to the top of the next column on the right. For vertical comics and similar content, you can switch to right-to-left progression and start reading from the rightmost column. Sidebars, utility columns, fixed controls, and other elements identified as secondary content are excluded from the split view whenever possible. ●Basic operation 1. Pin Split Scroll Viewer from Chrome’s Extensions menu. 2. Click the extension icon next to the address bar. 3. Select a column count from 2 to 5. 4. Select Paged navigation or Continuous scroll. 5. Select Left to right or Right to left for column progression. 6. Click Apply to split the current page. To restore the original page, select OFF in the popup or use the “s → 1” shortcut. ●Reading modes The default reading mode is Paged navigation. You can move through the page one spread at a time using: ・The navigation buttons on the left and right edges ・ArrowLeft / ArrowRight ・Page Up / Page Down When Right to left is selected, the meanings of the left and right buttons and arrow keys are reversed. Page Down always moves to the next spread. In right-to-left mode, the page visually slides to the right. To use ordinary vertical scrolling, select Continuous scroll in the popup. ●Column progression ・Left to right Start with the leftmost column and continue toward the right. This is suitable for articles, documentation, and news pages. ・Right to left Start with the rightmost column and continue toward the left. This is suitable for many vertically scrolling comics. The selected column progression is remembered for each domain and is applied to other pages on the same website. The column count and reading mode are remembered separately for each page. ●Lock left pane When comparing sections of a long conversation or document, you can lock the currently visible left pane while continuing to move through the content on the right. After unlocking it, all columns return to the same synchronized scrolling position. The pane physically displayed on the left is locked in both left-to-right and right-to-left modes. ●Keyboard shortcuts Press “s” and then press a number key. Images and canvases are arranged as continuous content. Loading continues toward the end of the episode even if page navigation temporarily catches up with images that are still being loaded. Availability may depend on the website structure, publication status, account status, and viewer implementation. ●Privacy This extension requests only the storage permission. Storage is used to save settings such as the selected column count, reading mode, and column progression inside the browser. The extension does not collect page content, browsing URLs, or other user data, and does not send such data to an external server. ●Important notes Perfect rendering on every website cannot be guaranteed. Pages that use complex layouts, unusual rendering systems, DRM, virtual scrolling, or frequent dynamic updates may not split correctly.
