Overview

Split screen for Chrome: tile tabs into 2x2 grids on either of your dual monitors. Keeps tab groups intact. One-click merge back.

Chrome splits two tabs. Tab Mosaic arranges your whole workspace: it tiles a window's tabs into a grid of windows on any monitor, keeps every tab group intact, and merges it all back with one click. 😤 The problem Most split-screen extensions can't see tab groups, so they scramble them. Group names, colours and collapsed groups get lost, pinned tabs come unpinned, and putting it all back is up to you. ✅ The fix • Layouts: side by side, over and under, three columns, three rows, 2×2, or any grid up to 4×4 • Tab groups move whole, with their name, colour and collapsed state. A group is never torn across windows. • Pinned tabs stay pinned • Arrange by hand: drag tabs and groups between windows, drag edges to resize. The preview is exactly what you get. • Windows fill the screen exactly, clear of the taskbar, Dock and menu bar, with an optional gap 🖥️ Every monitor Pick the display from a map of your real monitor arrangement. Works with monitors left of or above your main one and with different scaling, and remembers the last layout on each display. ↩️ Merge back One click or Alt+Shift+0 puts every tab back in the original window, in the original order, with its groups, pins, size and position. Tabs you opened in the meantime come back too. 💾 Saved layouts Name an arrangement ("Research", "Monday planning") and reopen it tomorrow, or apply it to the tabs you already have open. Import and export as a file. ⌨️ Keyboard Alt+Shift+1 side by side, Alt+Shift+2 over and under, Alt+Shift+4 2×2, Alt+Shift+0 merge back (Option instead of Alt on Mac). Change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. 🌍 Available in 51 languages. 💛 Free No account, no ads, no paywall. Tab Mosaic is made by one independent developer and supported by optional tips on Ko-fi. 🔒 Privacy No network requests, no analytics, no accounts. Tab Mosaic works offline and never reads page contents. "Read your browsing history" is optional and only adds page titles and reopenable layouts. Just two tabs in one window? Chrome's built-in Split View does that, and Tab Mosaic points you to it. Honest limits: on Linux with Wayland, the desktop doesn't let apps position windows, so windows may stack. Chrome won't make a window smaller than about 500×375, so very fine grids on small screens overlap, and Tab Mosaic tells you when that happens.
