Spiral

Overview
Your new tab becomes a notepad that syncs across your computers. Headings, checklists, dark mode. No account needed.
Spiral turns every new tab into one quiet, full-screen notepad. Open a tab and your note is there, ready to write in. What you type is saved as you go and appears on your other computers through Chrome's own sync. No account to create, nothing to set up. WRITE • Headings: type # or ## and a space, or use the ••• menu • Bold, italic, underline and strike-through • Checklists you can tick off, and dividers • Links turn clickable as you type, and email addresses stand out • Word and character count in the corner STAYS IN SYNC • Your note follows you to every computer where you're signed into Chrome with sync on • Open tabs on the same computer update instantly • The corner shows when the note last synced, and how much sync space it uses MADE FOR FOCUS • Light, dark, or follow your system • Full screen, clean printing, and export to Markdown or plain text • Hide note: one click (or Shift+Ctrl+H) hides your note while you share your screen. New tabs stay hidden until you show it again. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Spiral has no servers and makes no network requests. Your note is stored by Chrome on your computer and, if Chrome sync is on, in your own Google account. The developer never sees it. The only permission Spiral asks for is "storage". GOOD TO KNOW • Sync needs Chrome sync turned on, with "Extensions" included. • Chrome gives each extension about 100 KB of sync space, roughly 25 pages of text. If a note grows past that, Spiral keeps saving it on your computer and tells you it has stopped syncing. It never trims your text.
