SpeedJump

Jump from a student's submission in SpeedGrader straight to the same student's paired assignment.

Grading a student in Canvas SpeedGrader and need to see their work on a related assignment? SpeedJump takes you there in one click. Pair two assignments once, for example a draft and its final, or lesson 1.4.3 and lesson 1.4.4. From then on, while you're grading any student on one of them, click SpeedJump (or press Alt+S) and the same student's submission on the other assignment opens in a second tab. No going back to the gradebook, no scrolling to find the student again. HOW IT WORKS • Open a student in SpeedGrader and click the SpeedJump icon. • The first time, choose which assignment this one pairs with. SpeedJump lists your course's published assignments by name and suggests the next one in your numbering. • After that, one click jumps to the same student on the paired assignment. Pairs work in both directions and for every student. • Keep grading. Move to the next student, click SpeedJump again, and the same second tab updates to the new student instead of piling up new tabs. Shift-click if you do want a fresh tab. DETAILS • Add as many pairs as you like, in as many courses as you like. • Unpair any time, with Undo. • Your pairs sync across your own Chrome profile. • One-handed keyboard use: Alt+S opens SpeedJump, then press 1 to jump. You can change the shortcut in Chrome's extension shortcut settings. PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS • SpeedJump only looks at the SpeedGrader tab you click it on, at the moment you click it. It has no standing access to Canvas or any other site. • It stores which assignments you paired, and nothing about students. No names, IDs, grades, or submissions are saved. • It never changes anything in Canvas. It only opens or updates a tab. • No accounts, no analytics, no data sent to the developer or anyone else.
