Speed-read any web page or selected text one word at a time, at the pace you choose. Free, private, no account.

Read faster without moving your eyes. Speed Reader shows text one word at a time in the centre of a calm reading window, so you can take in articles, docs and course pages at the speed you set. • Select text and press Alt+Shift+R, click the toolbar icon, or right-click → "Speed-read selected text" • Click the icon with nothing selected to speed-read the whole page • Set your words per minute; it pauses a little longer at punctuation so sentences still flow • Light and dark themes, keyboard controls, opens on top of the page and closes with Esc • Works offline: nothing you read ever leaves your browser Privacy: no account, no ads, no analytics, no data collection. Your preferences stay on your device.
