The Speech2Text extension for Chrome is a quick way to record and transcribe meetings directly in your browser. Record audio and video in your browser and get accurate transcripts with automatic punctuation and speaker separation. It uses the same speech recognition technology as the Speech2Text website. Support for transcription in 90+ languages with speaker separation right in your Google Chrome browser. Advantages of the Speech2Text extension: One-click recording. Record and transcribe any video, online meeting, or lecture right in your browser with one click — no extra apps, no missing key details Time saving. No need to download and upload videos/audio to the website — the finished transcription will appear automatically in the Recognition tab of your Speech2Text account Export results. The finished video is automatically saved to your computer. Files with finished transcriptions can be downloaded from the website in any convenient format Custom settings. Customize the recording settings yourself depending on the tasks at hand. Choose between recording a tab or the screen, microphone, and/or system sound. How to use the extension: Install the extension in Chrome. Complete and confirm the installation of the Speech2Text extension in the Chrome Web Store. After installation, the extension can be found in the upper right corner of the menu bar by clicking on the puzzle icon. For quick access pin the extension icon to the toolbar. Select the recording settings. Click on the Speech2Text icon on the toolbar. In the pop-up window, select the recording source: tab or entire screen; select the sound source: microphone and/or system sound. If necessary, configure the recording save settings: only to your computer, or with sending to the Speech2Text service. Start and stop recording. Click the “Start Recording” button in the extension. Conduct a meeting, lecture, webinar, or make a video recording. You can end the recording in the recording window or in the extension by clicking the “Stop Recording” button. Please note that the recording stops automatically when you close the browser tab Get the finished recording and transcript. After recording is complete, the video is automatically downloaded to your computer and uploaded to the Speech2Text service for further transcription (this setting can be disabled if necessary). You can view the finished files by going to the Speech2Text website and clicking the “My Files” button in the extension.
