Overview
AI screen reader and voice assistant — helps blind and hands-free users navigate the web by voice. By Aqta Technologies.
Spectra is a real-time AI voice assistant that sees your screen and helps you use the web — completely hands-free. Say "Hey Spectra" and she wakes up. Tell her what you want. She clicks, types, scrolls, fills forms, reads articles, and navigates the web for you — all by voice. Built for people who are blind, have low vision, motor disabilities, or simply want a smarter, faster way to browse. ─── WHAT SPECTRA CAN DO ─── • Click any button, link, or element by voice • Type into any form field • Scroll pages in any direction • Navigate to any website • Read out headlines, articles, and emails • Fill out entire forms end-to-end • Log in to websites on your behalf • Search the web for you • Describe exactly what's on your screen • Complete multi-step tasks without stopping ─── HOW IT WORKS ─── Spectra uses Google's Gemini Live API to understand your voice in real time and see your screen. She speaks back naturally — no robotic responses, no endless menus. Just a helpful voice that gets things done. 1. Install the Spectra Bridge extension 2. Open spectra.aqta.ai 3. Say "Hey Spectra" or press Q 4. Tell her what you need ─── BUILT FOR ACCESSIBILITY ─── Spectra is designed audio-first. She narrates what she's doing, describes what's on screen, and never asks you to click anything yourself. Every interaction is designed for someone who cannot or prefers not to use a mouse or keyboard. Works alongside screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS). Full keyboard navigation. ARIA live regions for status announcements. Skip-to-content link. ─── WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES ─── Spectra Bridge is the "hands" of Spectra. It executes browser actions — clicking, typing, scrolling, pressing keys, and navigating on the tab you're browsing. Without this extension, Spectra can still describe your screen and respond by voice. With it, Spectra can take action for you on any website. The extension runs in two parts: • content.js — injected into each tab to execute actions and show visual feedback (purple highlight on clicked elements) • background.js — routes messages from the Spectra app tab to whichever tab you're browsing ─── PRIVACY ─── Spectra Bridge does not collect, store, or transmit any data. It does not read your browsing history, passwords, cookies, or form data. Screen capture is processed in memory only each frame replaces the last. Audio is streamed in real time and never recorded. When your session ends, everything is discarded. No analytics. No tracking. No accounts. Fully open source under the Apache Licence 2.0. Privacy policy: https://github.com/Aqta-ai/spectra/blob/main/PRIVACY.md ─── OPEN SOURCE ─── Spectra is fully open source. Deployed on Google Cloud Run.
